My birthday fundraiser for Down Syndrome Australia

My birthday fundraiser for Down Syndrome Australia

My beautiful sister

Hi, everyone,

For my 33rd birthday this year, I’m asking for donations to Down Syndrome Australia. I’ve chosen this nonprofit because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope you’ll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. I’ve included information about Down Syndrome Australia below.

Down Syndrome Australia was established in 2011 as the peak body for people with Down syndrome in Australia.

Our purpose is to influence social and policy change, provide a national profile and voice for people living with Down syndrome.

Our vision is an Australia where people living with Down syndrome are valued, reach their potential and enjoy social and economic inclusion. This cause is very close to my heart as I have beautiful sister with down syndrome who lives in England. She is just the best human ever and I miss her dearly

Here is the link to either donate or share :

Duit skincare – for her

Duit skincare – for her

Hey everyone,

For the last few weeks, I have been trialing the skincare for her range which was kindly gifted to me through and I must say I am very impressed with the range.

Over the years I have tried and tested so many creams and lotions and nothing has really worked on my dry skin but now I think I’ve finally something that works really works well and I’m excited to talk to you about it!

  1. The Duit dry and foot heal roll-on balm for dry and cracked skin:

Wow! Guys this product is AMAZING! I’ve had dry and cracked feet for as long as I can remember and at times they have been really painful too. I started using the roll-on balm and within days I was seeing results! I was actually amazed! My skin is much smoother now and less dry and isn’t painful at all. You can see how much the skin has cleared and it’s only been a few weeks. I will definitely continue to share my progress on this one. This was by far my top product out of the range.

  1. Duit tough hands for her: As a busy mum of 9 I’m always washing my hands which then for years had lead to me having really dry and sore skin. It would often bleed too which made me feel miserable. Again within days of using the cream, I was seeing big results!
Since using this cream my hands aren’t even dry at all and they actually look youthful again. Overall I am very impressed and will continue to use it.
  1. Duit Vitamin E face cream:
Growing up I always had ‘good skin’ but then after having children, my skin became dry and patchy. I tried many creams and again nothing worked until I came across the vitamin E cream. This cream nourishes your skin leaving it feeling silky smooth and hydrated. I actually love it and will continue to use it. I would add a full review on my blog later tonight

Have you tried the Duit skincare rangebefore? ‘Stop thinking and just duit’ 😎

World prematurity day 2019

World prematurity day 2019

Fran in NICU in 2011

Hey everyone,

Today is world prematurity day 2019. I’ve had a few premature babies over this years and I know how difficult and emotional it can be when you see your precious tiny baby in the NICU nursery. I find it hard to talk about but I have promised to be more open and honest with you all.

My little miracle baby Franchesca was born at 28 weeks gestation on February 15th 2011. Fran was born 11 and a half weeks early! Although this was almost 9 years ago and she is absolutely fine now, I still remember the day well.

I remember feeling ‘off ‘ the day she was born, the other kids had been unwell with gastro and I thought maybe I was coming down with it too but my stomach pains had got worse throughout the day. The pain was irregular but it was awful and unbearable. By early evening I was on my way to the hospital and I could feel things progressing. I was so scared 😭 I knew it was way too early and all I wanted was to keep my baby safe.

Within 30 mins arriving at the hospital and 2 small pushes my little miracle Franchesca was born. She was beautiful but so very tiny and under 1 kilo in weight. All I wanted to do was hold her and protect her but I couldn’t because she was being rushed up to the NICU. I have so many emotions flowing through me and I just felt so numb. To everyone’s surprise, Franchesca grew from strength to strength every day and only spent 6 weeks in the hospital. She definitely was a little warrior and still has a stubborn side to her now 9 years on.

I’m so proud of how far she has come. My other children were born at 34 and 36 weeks and have done NICU on both occasions and all have been hard. I am thankful for all the love and support we received during those difficult moments. The NICU team were incredible too.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have been through this or are experiencing it right now. I get your pain and know what it’s like. X

You can donate to help a NICU family in need via @tommeetippeeaustralia I will put the link here;
Thanks for reading

Oh Beehave in-home consults – Collab

Oh Beehave in-home consults – Collab

In-home consults with Ohbeehave – collab

About the service
In-Home Consulting is a service provided in the home that gives parents techniques and supports to help them with their child’s behaviour.

Oh, beehave work with the parents one on one to fully understand their challenges, design a plan that meets their individual needs, provide support to implement the plan and ensure they achieve the outcomes they are looking for.

They work with parents of toddlers to teens and everything in between!
An In-home consult includes:

2 x home visits

Individualised Oh Beehave Plan (tailored to the family’s personal needs)

2 weeks phone and email support

This service is Perth-based for home visits, with video conferencing options available for clients outside Perth (regional & remote areas, other states & countries)

Why Do I Need an Oh Beehave Consultant?

There is a lot of information out there about child behaviour with varied advice about what may or may not work. From well-researched websites to family, friends and the well-meaning lady down the road, to that Mum-Blogger you love to follow on Instagram. But is that what you really need to help you, in your personal situation, with your child, in your family?

Other parents can be a wealth of knowledge, but sometimes you need extra support that doesn’t sound like “this worked for me”.

The chances are, if a strategy worked for one child, in one household, in an environment and family completely different to yours… that strategy almost definitely will not work for you and your child. That’s because all kids are different and all parents are different!
There are times when you need someone who can help you understand why your child is acting the way they are, interpret all the information and advice being thrown your way, and reassure you that you’ve got this!
Sometimes we get so focused on pretending that we’ve got it all together to our friends and family, that it becomes hard to drop the facade and admit to the challenges and uncertainties we are facing, to discuss how we really feel.

Even when we do build up the courage to talk about it, well-meaning comments or advice can, unfortunately, chip away at our confidence further.

These are the times when you need someone completely independent. Someone who will listen to you without judgment or bias. Someone who won’t give you advice, but will help you work through your challenges and give you the tools and confidence to be the best parent you can be.

Having kid’s is challenging and it is OK to ask for help. Asking for help means you’re a good parent!

Who Will Be My Consultant?
Dominique Groenveld is your Oh Beehave Consultant. She will work with you and your family to identify the outcomes you want to achieve and help you put in place a plan with simple but effective techniques to make sure you accomplish the results you are looking for.

The service they provide is not like all the Mum’s you see out there who tell you what will work based on their experience with their own children. This service is based on my work with many children in many different environments and family dynamics. With me, you won’t feel like you’re being judged by someone who believes there’s a “right” or “wrong” way to parent. I honestly believe the only right way, is for you to decide how you want to parent your child. Because you know your child best!

Dominque has a wealth of knowledge about learning and behaviour management (she studied at University and achieved a Bachelor degree in Psychology, a Post Graduate Degree in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Education – Majoring in School Psychology and Minoring in Health Teaching – and she was even lucky enough to have my thesis published in an International Journal!) but all fancy paperwork aside, Dominque is experienced in working with children and families and her goal is to make sure you achieve the best possible outcomes for you and your family.

What Does it Cost?
In-Home Consults are valued at $500 (video-conferencing option is valued at $400)

More information about the service is available on her website:

You can also use my discount code; “TRIBEOFMINE” for a 10 per cent discount. The discount expires in 2 days

My perceptions in life

My perceptions in life

Hi everyone,

Sometimes people ask me “what’s your purpose in life and what is it you want to achieve?

Now let’s get personal…
My purpose in life is to serve God in the best way I can and ultimately get to heaven, that’s my ultimate goal. I’m trying to live my life the way God intended me too. I am trying to raise my family and teach them everything I know about God and about our faith. I’m not perfect and I know I will make mistakes along the way but I’m always trying to to do the right thing. Every day brings new challenges but my faith and family help me get through it all.

My purpose also in life is to be the best mother and wife I can be. I have been blessed with 9 amazing children and a fantastic husband and I will do anything for them. It can be so incredibly hard but also so rewarding. We get one shot at life! You gotta live your life to the fullest.

My purpose in life is to help people in any way I can whether that’s in person, on the phone, through email, or through prayer. I have a kind and generous heart and I’m passionate about helping others. I am always here if any of you ever need someone to talk too. 😍 #igotyourback

I want to use my social media platforms to spread positivity, real-life challenges and also to help remove the stigma that surrounds large families like mine. We are all different and I think it’s disgusting reading and hearing what some people have to say about larger families. Why people go out of their way to do this is mind-boggling! My goal is to help change people’s perceptions of large families one day at a time.
I hope to one day write and publish a book about my life as a mum of 9 and share my tips and advice, but each time I try I get scared and doubt my abilities to do so. Is this something you would like me to do? I want to overcome my fears and do it.

I almost didn’t post this picture today because I don’t like it! What I do love though is my hair lock from Happy hair brush.
Lately, I’m pushing myself more out of my comfort zone and opening up more and showing those teeth off!
Do you get asked what your purpose is in life too?
Thanks for your ongoing support it means so much to me

My anxiety triggers

My anxiety triggers

Hi everyone,

The one thing I don’t talk about often is my anxiety. I don’t like feeling exposed because I fear people will think differently of me. It’s such a personal thing and find it hard to open up about it and say what triggers these emotions. But it should definitely be spoken about more.

I suffer from anxiety which stems from my car accident I had 3 years ago.
I believe that everyone has different levels and forms of anxiety, and different ways of coping with it. The day I had my car accident I feel I lost a part of my sparkle. It’s slowly coming back now which is good but when you experience something as scary as that where your life flashes before your eyes it can take such a long time to feel yourself again. It changes your life forever!

I get anxious about driving to certain places and I get anxious about parking too close to people etc..These might seem like small things but to me, they seem huge! The fact that I’m even driving after such a huge ordeal is such an achievement and I am proud of myself for that! I actually drove 2 weeks after my car accident and have driven ever since, but it hasn’t been easy. I tell myself every day that I won’t let these bad drivers win! And that I got this! I just need to change my mindset when it comes to driving because as of right now I don’t enjoy it like I used too, I drive because I have too to. I always put my family first no matter what!

Sometimes I feel people look at ‘anxiety’ as a dirty shameful thing and of course it’s not and you should never feel ashamed. If you need help then please ask for it. There is so much support out there. And remember you are WORTHY and loved! #yougotthis

We all have different ways of coping in certain situations and for me personally, my faith and family have helped me so much in getting through these hard moments which I’m so thankful for. My confidence in driving is getting better each time I go out. I decided if in a year this still affects me then I will seek help because it’s okay to not be okay and ask for help
Love always

Who are we to judge?!

Who are we to judge?!

Hey everyone,

For the last 4 weeks, I have noticed a homeless man sitting outside Aldi in my local town and I admit for the first few weeks I just smiled at him and didn’t do anything to help him! And if I’m completely honest then I was a little nervous approaching him because I didn’t want to place myself in an unsafe situation. Looking back though I wished I had helped him sooner.

On Saturday afternoon I had noticed he had a limp and I could feel the sadness that filled his eyes, I knew at that moment that I wanted to help him in any way I could. Earlier that day I had been on a girly shopping day with my mother in law and I had a bit of money left over and so I walked up to him and handed him $50! Now I know what you are all thinking! You think it’s a bad idea to give homeless people money because you think they will spend it on booze etc.. But at the end of the day who are we to judge? We don’t actually know what they will spend it on or why they are in this situation, or what they’ve done or haven’t done! and quite frankly it’s none of our business! I know there is some people who claim to be homeless and aren’t being genuine about it, but I felt in my heart and soul that he was different. I handed him the money and he lifted his head and was instantly filled with joy. He cried and said thank you and shook my hand, I told him to go get some food and he said he would and with that, he got up and went into Aldi.

I went to Aldi again on Wednesday and he was there again. I reminded him who I was and I asked how he was. He told me he was able to get a good feed on Saturday. I told him I had no money to give him but I would go and buy him some lunch. I bought him a big bottle of water, a croissant, a pack of flavoured crackers and a pack of museli bars. When I headed back outside with my shopping he was gone. I ended up

leaving his lunch with the sales stall that was outside because he usually comes back.

I really wished I could do more for him but I did what I could.
I’ve seen many people look at this man with disgust and that makes me very sad 😢

If anyone is in Queanbeyan and can offer this man , food drink, blankets or a safe place to to stay then let me know.😢
