On Monday Georgina started her online tutoring sessions with A Team tutoring. She has an amazing and friendly tutor who is helping her to understand her maths questions a little better. By the end of the session Georgina felt a lot more confident in what she needed to do. The next day, Georgina was able to complete her ‘four operations math questions’ in her maths book with ease.

It’s World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) today, a global awareness day that has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. People with Down syndrome have an inherent right to be accepted and included as valued and equal members of the community and today we celebrate not only their rights but their achievements.
And how are we celebrating at our house – with the help of our Miniland Dolls with Down syndrome! Like all Miniland Dolls, they are a great way to teach children about diversity and that people present in many different ways but all are worthy of respect. I grew up in England with my beautiful sister, Kerry, aged 38, who has Down syndrome, and she has taught me to be understanding, compassionate, and respectful of others and really I would not be who I am today without her. I was actually severely bullied at school though because of my sister and I think it all comes down to a lack of education, compassion, and understanding. That’s why days like today are so important to raise awareness and why dolls such as these Miniland dolls with Down syndrome really help children learn from a young age about diversity and how to treat everyone equally and with the same respect as you would to any human being.
Growing up with Kerry was so much fun! I never thought differently of her and only ever loved her for who she is. We have some amazing memories together and I will cherish those memories forever! Her personality is always shining and she gives the best hugs and kisses which sometimes turn into licks!! She would greet people she had never met before with a great big lick 😂 She makes me giggle so much! She is super funny and randomly tells you that you ‘smell’ or says “bop it” or “that’s enough”. Kerry has a great memory and can go into detail about things she remembers! Her memory is better than mine!
My kids all absolutely adore their aunty Kerry and love speaking to her on WhatsApp and Skype every week. Kerry is a beautiful and unique woman and I am in awe of how amazing she is and feel so incredibly blessed to have her in my life! I am so proud of YOU and I am so proud to be your sister! 🤩What an awesome human being you are!
I love you so much. Even though I’m far away Kerry, I think of you every day!
