Hospital drama! Before and after my son was born

Please See the letter we sent to the hospital below that explains what a horrendous experience we endured.

To whom this may concern,

Please accept this statement as a formal complaint relating to how I was treated during my labour and delivery on 14th February 2018.

Firstly I was told my entire pregnancy that I was high risk because I was having my ninth child and that because I had a history of preterm labour and postpartum haemorrhage that they would be keeping a close eye on me.

I strongly believe that hospital failed their duty of care towards me during this time whilst I was in labour.

I was also told that as soon as my first contraction started that I was to head straight to hospital where there could keep a close eye on me. I rang the hospital and told them I was in labour…

Hair fudge.

Hey everyone,

Over the last few weeks, I have been trialling the little innocents baby skincare range! Our family is loving everything so far!

Massage oil

The little innoscents skincare range is all natural and organic, using pure essential oils, and natural ingredients. The whole range smells amazing and feels amazing! it is also great for dry and irritated skin!

We all know how hard it is to find genuine, natural and organic products in today’s market. The companies are either misleading consumers with their ingredients, or they are just too expensive to buy. What I love most about this range is that it is very affordable, it smells good, and it feels good on your skin!

As a family of 11 people, we have a variety of different skin types in the house! I have found that the range has worked on us all! My husband and I both have dry skin conditions and have found the intensive cream and the mineral powder especially great on our skin!

A big favourite with our children was the milky whites toothpaste and the hair fudge! The kids said that the toothpaste tasted amazing, it was gone within 2 days! baring in mind we have 8 kids brushing their teeth twice a day! And given how big our family is we probably need a huge tube of it. The hair fudge has been great for styling the kid’s hair, especially for my youngest boy is almost 1 year old.

Some of the little innoscents range

My personal favourite from the range is the massage oil, not only is it awesome for the kids when they complain of growing pains but is also great for me and my chronic neck pain! I have tried and tested many creams and oils on my neck for the past two and a half years since my car accident and nothing has worked! But this massage oil is absolutely amazing! I love it!

My husband’s favourite product is the mineral powder the intensive care cream. He suffers badly with psoriasis and has found that nothing has helped over the years, he has been using the intensive soothing cream for a few weeks now and already his hands look so much better!

We love this range and can’t wait to see what they do next.

Thank you, little innoscents for being so amazing!

Here are some other places you can buy the range from;

Happy Hairbrush Review

Happy Hairbrush Review

9 Happy kids with happy hair!

Hey everyone,

As a mum of 9, I have always struggled to find the right brush for my children’s hair, and as you can imagine we have been through hundreds of brushes, and we have had lot’s of tears and tantrums over the years because the brushes we were using hurt their hair! It was always a stressful task when it came to brushing everyone’s hair.

I never ever thought I was going to find a brush that brushed my children’s hair with ease! That was until I met the beautiful happy hair brush team at the blogger’s BBQ on Saturday! Not only do they handmake their brushes, but they also look beautiful, and they are designed to brush hair with ease, it’s also stress-free for parents and children when using the brush! That’s always a winner in my eyes. No one wants there child in tears when brushing their hair. It doesn’t matter what type of hair your child has as the happy hair brush works for all hair types! The only brush in their collection that doesn’t work on thick hair is the sensory brush. Please see their website for more details; https://happyhairbrush.com.au/collections/frontpage/products/sensory-happy-hair-brush

The team at Happy hair brush gave us a demonstration on how the brush worked and I have to say I was amazed! The hairbrush brushed with ease, it glided through the child’s hair so smoothly. The child smiled as she was having her thick beautiful hair brushed! Her hair also looked so silky and shiny after! I’m telling you that this brush is revolutionary! it will change your life!

The brushes come in black, purple, pink, gold, and white, red,. There is also a smaller version of this brush that you can fit in your bag/ nappy bag. Happy hairbrush have also designed a blue sensory brush for adults/children with sensory needs, it is a little softer than the other brushes. It has softer nylon pins and the knobs on the end are a bit thicker and rounder protecting a more sensitive scalp. It has been designed specifically for kids and people that are:- Highly Sensory, have ADHD or special needs who find traditional hair brushes hurt or overstimulate them.  Please note the sensory brush is not suitable for thick hair! These brushes can be sold separately or in multipacks. Happy hair also have after pay which is even more awesome! I also have a 15 per cent off discount code for you all if you would like to try these brushes out. Please use THISTRIBE15 at checkout!

I was so amazed at these brushes and was kindly gifted some to take home and try with my family! It’s been 4 days, and I kid you not! My kids absolutely love these brushes! I am hearing no whining, and there are no tears when it comes to hair brushing! I think the family, and I are fully converted to using the happy hairbrush. Over the last few days, I have brushed through countless knots in my children’s hair and not once have they complained about it hurting! Happy hairbrush has changed our lives!

My first blog post of 2019!

Canberra united Vs Melbourne

Happy 2019!

Hey everyone,

How are you all?

I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas and new years! We enjoyed ours with family and friends. I can’t believe it’s mid-January already! I have a feeling that 2019 is going to fly by! Lot’s of big things are happening this year!

We have been busy cleaning, de-cluttering the house. It feels so good when everything is clean and organized. We have also been organizing our school room/books for the busy year ahead. We are making good progress and are almost ready to go!

We have had lots of fun over the holidays. We have been to see Mary Poppins returns, we also went to a science museum called questacon. We have been swimming, shopping, catching up with friends, and preparing for our year ahead. It’s been so lovely. I’m still in holiday mode a little bit! But I am also motivated and ready to get the ball rolling. This year I am going to stay positive and be organized! Life is less stressful if you’re organized! Let’s see how I go!

Our 7 oldest girls were asked to be mascots for the Canberra United match yesterday in Queanbeyan. They ran out in the first half with the players, and then we headed home due to a big storm coming that way! Although it was short it was a great experience for them. They really enjoyed themselves! Once we got home we heard that the match was abandoned aft due to the extreme weather. I did try to get a video of them running out with the players, but my video camera stuffed up and didn’t record it! I am hoping to find a video online soon, and when I do, I will share it with you all! I am sure the kids will treasure this memory forever!

This Saturday I am heading to Sydney for the day, to the blogger’s BBQ event hosted by kids business communications. This is my first event ever as a blogger! I am super excited to meet everyone and learn lots of new and interesting things. I have a big day of travelling back and forth, but it’s totally worth it! I am so excited to see where it might take me next on my blogging journey. I will take lots of pictures and videos! I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

What are all of your plans for 2019? I would love to hear them.

Thanks for reading

love Claire

My affordable everyday makeup products

My affordable everyday makeup products

My everyday makeup products

Hey everyone,

Following on from last week’s affordable skincare blog post,  I wanted to talk to you this week about affordable makeup products that I use every day.

Before I apply any makeup I make sure I cleanse my skin with micellar water and use my daily cream by blessed by nature. You can read my previous blog post about my thoughts on my new skin care products I use.

I am by no means a professional when it comes to makeup. As I mentioned in my last blog post I have been wearing makeup since I was 11 years old, but I have obviously improved a lot over the years. As you all know by now I am a mum of 9 children, so time is not on my side. I only want to use products that are quick to use, are easy to apply and look good, but most of all they have to be very affordable. I recently cleaned out my makeup bag and realized I actually needed quite a few new makeup products.I had neglected my makeup bag for a while.

When I recently visited my local Priceline and bought my skincare, I also treated myself to some new makeup products too. I was excited when I realized one of my favourite makeup brands @rimmelllondau had a sale on. I believe the sale is still on too!

The first product I bought was the; Rimmel London lasting finish primer  https://www.priceline.com.au/rimmel-lasting-finish-primer-30-ml.This primer is only $6.97!

I think is pretty awesome! Now to tell you the truth I was not one for primer until very recently. For all these years I had been applying foundation/ powder and wondering why it looked so patchy and uneven. Since using the primer I no longer have these issues. I wish I had started using it sooner. It is a full coverage foundation to a certain degree. I’d say it is more of a medium coverage foundation. It gives my skin a flawless finish. It is great value for money. All in all,it is a great foundation.

The third product is the; Rimmel London day 2-night mascara

Essentially it is day mascara and then you can transition it to a full dramatic mascara for an evening out. actually, love this mascara. I would just recommend wiping some of the product off on the bottle before applying the fuller volume mascara as it could end up being too cakey. This cost around $10.

The 4th product is the Katie- By Rimmel London contour kit- https://www.priceline.com.au/rimmel-kate-sculpting-palette-18-5-g

I really like buying kits that are 3-1. it has a contour, blush and a highlight in the pack. It has step by step instructions on the back. The colours are gorgeous and it is still on sale for $8.49. All in all this product is amazing!

The 5th product is a nude Rimmel London lip liner that I bought absolutely ages ago. But I believe the link is to the correct product https://www.priceline.com.au/rimmel-1000-kisses-stay-on-lip-liner-0-3-g

I am not very good with lip liner and have very thin lips, but the product goes on with great precision and  I have had no issues with it. I think it is a great product. This is on special right now for $4.49

The next product is my most favourite out of all the products. The brow kit from Elf cosmetics. It makes your brows look so good, especially when they are in need of a good wax. The kit has a gel and a powder. It also comes with a small brow brush. I love the definition it gives my brows. This product is $9.The best part about elf cosmetics is you can buy your fave products and chose to pay with after pay if you wish. https://www.elfcosmetics.com.au/collections/eyebrows/products/e-l-f-studio-eyebrow-kit

The next product is an eyeshadow palette I bought from Aldi It’s called stepping up- Lacura cosmetics. I bought it ages ago but it cost me between 5-10 dollars. The colours are very pigmented and apply so well. They actually feel silky smooth once applied. I know it is from Aldis but it is actually one of the best eyeshadow palettes I’ve ever owned.

The last product is this beautiful lipstick from lust minerals. It was created by my beautiful friend Simone Marie. The shade is number 58.It is a nude/natural colour. It feels super lightweight when it is on. I absolutely love this lipstick. It did cost me $30, but I wanted to treat myself. Lust minerals also have after pay available on their online store.

I hope you love all the products I mentioned. I try to keep my makeup collection small and not too complicated, I, however, am waiting on a makeup order from Db Cosmetics and Elf Cosmetics. I can’t wait for it all to arrive!

Enjoy your weekend lovelies

Affordable everyday skincare

Hey everyone,

Welcome to this weeks blog post. Now,  you all know I have  I have been battling a horrible virus for over 10 days now, so, unfortunately, it has been a little quiet on the blog post front. I am still unwell, but definitely feeling much better than I was.

Today I wanted to talk to you all about skincare. Now as a mum of 9 children I hadn’t always looked after my skin, I sometimes would be so tired at the end of the day and would fall asleep in my makeup! We all know we shouldn’t do that but we are all guilty of it. Recently I have started pampering myself a little more and it has honestly made me feel so much better.

I started wearing makeup when I was only 11 years old!  It’s very young I know! I used to cake my makeup on and it looked horrendous, eventually, I got the hang of it. I have always been quite lucky and have had reasonably good skin,  it’s only started to decline in the last few years since having my children,  and getting a little older that I noticed it was a little on the dry side.

I had always thought buying skincare would be out of my budget and too expensive, but after talking to a lovely Priceline employee at my local Priceline I realized how affordable it actually was! I told them I was a busy mum and that I only wanted quick skincare routine that could be done in under five minutes. The Priceline employee was very helpful and very knowledgeable about all the products she spoke about.

After chatting to the Priceline employee for a while I decided on buying natural skin care.

The first product I bought was the;  Blessed by nature skincare revival kit https://www.priceline.com.au/brand/blessed-by-nature/blessed-by-nature-skin-revival-gift-pack-2-pack  This was only $18.99 and it came in a lovely little cosmetic bag, in the bag you get 2 creams, a day cream, and a night cream. When I first started using the cream my face would sting, and this was only because it was enriched with vitamins A, C & E,  but after a few days it settled and my skin got used to it. I have been using these creams for 3 -4 weeks now, and both creams have been working really well on my skin. They smell divine too. These skin creams are suitable for all skin types and I highly recommend them!

The second product I bought was the; Essano beauty rosehip micellar water https://www.priceline.com.au/essano-rosehip-gentle-facial-cleansing-micellar-water-100-m  I bought this product for about $5.99, but currently, it is on special for $4.49 Which is an absolute bargain! I squirt a small amount of this onto to some cotton pads * this is important because it activates the product*  and just cleanse my face, it works great as a makeup remover, or even just a little something to keep your skin feeling cool and fresh. I absolutely love this product and will definitely be buying more when this one runs out! I also to clean my face, the Priceline makeup remover wipes; https://www.priceline.com.au/beauty-essentials-make-up-remover-wipes-for-sensitive-skin-25- These makeup remover wipes are only $2 which is incredibly cheap, I bought the sensitive skin ones and they have honestly worked so well on my skin

The third product which I use once a week, which was kindly gifted to me from Priceline, is the; https://www.priceline.com.au/brand/andalou-naturals/andalou-naturals-brightening-pumpkin-honey-glycolic-mask-50-g  You can buy this product for only $22.99. It might only be a 50gram jar, but you honestly only need a small amount to cover your whole face. I leave mine on for about 10 minutes and then I just rinse it off. My face always feels super fresh and smooth after I use it. This product smells amazing, and I have noticed a big change in my skin since I’ve been using it!

I have been using all these products listed now for about 3-4 weeks and I’m so happy with them all, they don’t take long to apply,  and my skin is feeling super soft and looking so much more fresh and youthful.  I may have started my skincare regime quite late but it’s never too late to make these changes in your life.

I bought my skincare products for under $30 which in my eyes is a complete bargain!

Please remember that I’ll only ever share products with you that I have tried and tested and absolutely love.

Priceline have lots of awesome deals on at the moment, and just in time for Christmas. You can check them out at https://www.priceline.com.au/
